When you speak of Roger Federer, we all know and admire him to be one of the greatest players that have graced the world of tennis, right? Well, he might be a wonderful player of tennis and all, but the fact remains that he is not a good role-model for younger sportsmen to follow. Don’t get me wrong; every sportsman would love to achieve all of the honors and accolades that Federer has got; but the fact remains that Federer lacks spirit and the heart required to make a sportsman, truly, immortal.

How else would you explain Roger Federer’s decision to sit on the sidelines during the clay court season and to miss one of the most important competitions of the year; the French Open! After his loss to an unknown Australian commodity, who is ranked 175th in the world, Federer will not be the world number one, once the clay court is done and over with. However, this act of cowardice should not come off as a surprise to the fans of the Swiss superstar, owing to how Federer pulled off the same shenanigans last year. Federer hopes to make a return at Wimbledon next, but going by his recent defeat, his chances certainly don’t appear too bright.

What Federer needs to realize is that he is at the twilight of his career. This means that not only does he need to participate in as many competitions as possible, but he needs to continuously add to his tally of grand slam wins as well. If he doesn’t, then…well, he should know that Rafael Nadal is not too far behind and may have just got his number!

Roger Federer Should Consider Keeping Quiet on Matters He Knows Little About!

We all know Roger Federer—one of the greatest tennis players of all time—for being a thorough sportsman, right? Well, it appears as if Federer’s sportsmanship takes a backseat when it comes to his nationalism, which certainly is unfitting for an individual of his stature. And, apparently, Federer’s nationalism gives him the right of gracing the world with his opinion on matters he knows little of.

Northern Ireland was cruising towards a spot for the FIFA World Cup 2018. However, there’s path was bulldozed by a bizarre penalty decision from the referee, during the match against Switzerland, which caused the match to end up in a draw. This draw (read: penalty decision) is the reason why the people of Northern Ireland will be unable to see their players performing in Russia, later this year.

When asked about the referee’s decision, Federer had the audacity to comment that the decision was “right”, even though he’d admitted that he’d not watched the match, just moments earlier. Even seasonal football enthusiasts, who only understand the basics of football, will tell you that Northern Ireland was robbed of their place in Russia this summer. But it seems that people like Federer, however, will continue to defend the murder of sportsmanship in the name of nationalism!

The more you speak of the ‘Federer Glory’, the less it is. He beat Nadal to clinch the third title of the season, in style!

If you think that Roger Federer has aged enough to retire, as some people suggest, you are absolutely wrong at your notion. This guy continues to make people admire his exquisite backhands and pristine precision shots. In the final of the Miami Open which was played in Itau, he beat Nadal 6-3, 6-4!

As if the win in Indian Wells wasn’t agonizing enough for the fans of Rafael Nadal, the duo met again on Sunday when Federer was crowned his third Sunshine Double. It is often baffling how, at the age of 35, he still packs that pace and agility that gets him to win crucial games against some of the best in the game.

When asked about the game, Federer said that it was a very close match. He further stated,

“Maybe if you didn’t see the match and you were sitting somewhere around the world and you see the score you’re thinking it was straightforward with couple breaks and that was it.”

He continued saying that the match was far different from what the scores state. “It was close.” he said.
